About me

20120910-215500.jpg

I absolutely love words, always have, always will. I love fiction, non-fiction, poetry and essentially every genre but science fiction (Sorry trekkies, I am not your girl). But most significantly I have encountered the Word of Life through Christ. I’m a daughter to the King of Kings, a wife to an amazing man, and a mother to three crazy little boys. My husband directs Campus Outreach San Diego which means that I have the incredible opportunity of watching God transform the lives of college women through discipleship.  In my spare time I love to thrift, drink copious amounts of coffee and interact with college students about Christ.

Hi Aimee! I too have had two close friends lose their moms this last year and a friend diagnosed with cancer and have had so much grief – words couldn’t capture. Thanks for your post, that I’ve sent along to them!

Thanks so much for your post at Desiring God this morning about the myth of maternal bliss. “My children are great kids, but they are not always worth it. On the hard days, when the wheels come off and things fall apart around here, I choose this because I believe Jesus to be worthy.” This was a lightbulb moment for me!

I’m very encouraged and sharpened by your ponderings.

Do you have a way to subscribe to your blog? I’d love for it to come to me vs me needing to go to it each time. Ha.

Hey Janea! Thanks for asking! I am not the most tech-savvy human alive, so the only way I know for that to happen is for you to create a WordPress username and follow my blog. When you do that, an email is sent to you whenever I post! I hope that is helpful. Thanks for reading!

Thank you for your article on the Gospel Coalition “I Am Not Enough.” It is so much more freeing to me to think on that than try to believe that I am enough. I’ve been struggling with my inadequacies as a wife and mom. I simply cannot be enough all of the time. Your article came at a great time. It is a greater comfort for me to remind myself that only Jesus is enough and when I fail I should not feel hopeless but satisfied that I am being made new. Keep writing! ❤

I came across your blog through your article in the Gospel Coalition “I Am Not Enough.”

I am not as eloquent with words, though I’ve always had a deep desire to have my words and perspective be so powerful.

God’s Word is life-giving, and your ability to weave it into your daily life and live/speak/learn/guide through it all is so beautiful and encouraging, and you’ve been such a blessing to me the past several weeks.

Thank you for taking the time to write, and please continue to do so.

    Hi Aimee,
Your talk this past weekend on Exhausted Moms and their Inexhaustible God was such a blessing to me, and the half dozen women I’ve already shared your message with. I had a few questions about your Sabbath time and was wondering if you’d be willing to contact me. Thank you for your talk and for sharing your heart with us.
